INTRODUCTION.jpg
  • Stoney Waters (SW)
  • The Force Theory
  • Stoney Waters was originally a territory of the United States of America. The Americans used all of the Waterians land for their own use and forced them to make goods for the USA. The people of Stoney Waters eventually got tired of being treated like slaves on their own land and started a rebellion against the Americans. This is how the Army of Waterians came to be, they led the people to fight for their rights to be free. After Stoney Waters was left in ruins one family rose up and took control over the people. Since then the same family has been ruling, and will continue to pass down the crown for generations to come.
  • The national anthem for Stoney Waters is "The Sky Above, The Field Below" by Explosions In the Sky
  • Our national flower is the Lily and our national bird is the duck.

*Average Age - 32
*% of people in urban areas - 75%

*Religion(s) - 70.9% Christians, 15.1% No religion, 15% OTHER.
*Language(s) - The native language is English.
*Traditional dress/clothing - Same cultural style as the US
*Food (most popular meals for all meal sittings) Mostly organic foods - all natural since we do not have many factories.
*Major National Holidays (must have at least 2 and explain the origin of each)
- Jameson Benjamin Ceteel Day. JBC Day was founded after the Stone War, the fight for independence, because of Jameson, the leader of the Waterian Army. He trained and prepared the army in preparation for the rebellion. After Stoney Waters won their independence, a national holiday was founded in memory of Ceteel, who died in the front line during battle. This is their independence day, just named in honor of a special man.
-Four Fiends. Somewhat like a Waterian April Fool's, this holiday was established in the earlier days. The story behind this holiday has been passed on for many generations. Four criminals, all friends, began vandalizing homes, stores, schools, etc. for no other reason than to pass the time. Eventually, two of the four got caught and put in the slammer for years. The other two, clearly infuriated, had nothing but revenge on their mind. One by one, they killed all the people involved in capturing the two criminals. But before they would make their attack, they would leave an envelope with a foreshadowing material of how they would die. The most famous would be the exploding gas tanks at one of the officers office building that caused a fire and had more than 50 casualties. This holiday is is more of a joking\fooling around kind of day. If you receive an envelope of ash, that means you will get pranked later on in the day. This is a joyful day created on the foundation of a haunting history.
*Cultural Norms, Customs, and Taboos (must have at least 2 of each)
  • It is a 'cultural norm' to take off your shoes before entering a guest's house and to greet people by shaking their pinkies.
  • It is a custom to go fishing with your family on the first sunday of every month, just to hang out and have a day off work. It is also a custom for the current member of the ruling family to collect a stone/rock from a river thirty days before JBC Day. On thier Independence day, the stone should be flung into the ocean with a slingshot to represent their winning of freedom. Once a rock in a little river, now a rock in a free ocean.
  • Taboos: When sending a boquet of flowers as a friendly gift or such, always send them in an odd number, because an even number is usually associated with death or departure. When dining at someone's house, it is an insult to not finish your plate, for this means you didnt like it or you plan on eating somewhere else afterwards.
  • Everyone gives people hand hugs! :D

economy.jpg

*Overview of economic system and current economic challenges (provide clear description
and explanation.
Traditional Economy. We do not have many factories because we do not like to harm our environment in such ways. Anything that emits harmful gases into the atmosphere is prohibited. For this reason, we trade for goods that other people make. Everyone in society is important. There are people who have the ability to make the everyday neccesities, like clothes and shoes. And those who have the ability to make all other things man-made. People live by bartering. There is rarely surplus, because people make just enough to make a living off of - both to trade, and to eat for themselves. We do have a currency, which we use to buy goods that are worth more than a few trades.
One economic challenge is Global Trading for all the other products we can not acquire ourselves. We are not increasing our trading partners due to the lack of variety of our trading goods. We mostly trade jumbo shrimp, fish, crabs, and other seafood varieties. We also export water. Because we do not have many factories, we do not have a wide variety of goods to export. Of course, who doesnt love seafood? But perhaps people are getting tired of just trading that for things we need - such as technology and golf carts (a popular mode of transportation)
Another economic challenge is our lack of developement to the modern world around us. With so many new technological advances in other coutries, we are being left behind in the dust. We try very hard not to create more factories because of the effects they have, but with little factories, we do not have the power to create those things that require machinery.
The only way we are still a growing country is our diamond exports. We have many extinct volcanoes, which are prime sources for diamonds.
